The material piece that forms the top facing designed part of the quilt. Many styles exist for example: Amish, Aplique, Art, Barcello, Fence & Rail, Hawiian, Log Cabin, Medallion, Sampler, Scrap, Seminole, Strip and Wholecloth to name a few.
